Sound technology: miking 101: microphone systems

After intensive preparation of the repertoire by the ensemble and careful selection of the location, it is the planning and implementation of the microphone system that provides the basis for any recording project.

Working with real instruments, you do not just record direct sound but also the response of the room to the sounds that the musicians elicit from their instruments. To this extent the task of the sound manager is to appropriately reproduce the acoustic events to the repertoire. For a live sound recording and / or subsequent mixing the objective is to be able to develop the sound-based perceptions of artists and producer.
