Dr. Christian Benedict

Hamburg-born Dr Christian Benedict completed his studies in ecotrophology at Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel in 2003. From 2003 to 2009, Dr Benedict conducted postgraduate and postdoctoral research at Institut für Neuroendokrinologie at Medizinische Universität in Lübeck. He attained his doctorate in human biology in 2008 and was presented with the Otto-Roth-Preis for his dissertation in 2009. Since August 2009, Dr Benedict has been with the Institute for Neurosciences at Uppsala University in Sweden where he completed his postdoctoral studies (habilitation) in neurosciences in December 2013. Dr Benedict has published more than 100 scientific articles in trade magazines including renowned journals such as Science, Science Advances, Neurology, Diabetes Care, and Sleep Medicine Reviews. In September 2019, Dr Benedict’s book Schlaf ist die beste Medizin was published in Germany (Eden Books).
