Gerret Lukas

Group Lead Additive Manufacturing Systems at the Machine Tool Laboratory (WZL)

Gerret Lukas graduated from the RWTH Aachen University in materials science and process technologies and shortly became Research Engineer at GE Inspection Technologies. In 2017, he started working at RWTH Aachen University as a Research Associate at WZL. Since 2019, he has been the Group Lead for Additive Manufacturing Systems at WZL.
Gerret has vast project experience which includes:
Development of a Drive Train Kit for Electric Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks</b>
</span>Coordination of the development and manufacturing of prototypes and operation of the project management office. Research in the field of flexible product development with the use of additive manufacturing technologies.
</span>Education in Design for Additive Manufacturing</b>
</span>Benchmarking of industry partners in the ability to teach design for additive manufacturing within their organization. Conceptualization of a new approach to educate designers in the application of AM in product development.
</span>Prototyping of a Small Autonomous Delivery Robot</b>
</span>Project management and coordination of the design, development and manufacturing of prototypes of a new type of autonomous delivery robot in cooperation with an industry partner.
</span>Design for Manufacturing and Requirements Management for Large Scale Automotive Production</b>
</span>Requirements management and standardization for production and integration of electric powertrain components. Conduction of interviews and workshop for requirements generation. </span>
