Prof. Dr. Horst Weißsieker
Expert cleanroom technology

Following an intermediate diploma in physics from the University of Göttingen, I transferred to the Technical University of Berlin in order to continue studying my chosen areas of specialisation: information technology, astrophysics and technical optics.
For more than 30 years, I have been working in the planning, construction and certification of cleanrooms for all applications of cleanroom technology, including microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing sectors and hospitals.
Since 13 August 2007 I have been a publicly appointed and certified expert for the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Köln) for the field of cleanroom technology.
My involvement with the DIN/VDI associations and CEN/ISO international standardisation has helped to achieve the realisation of German ideas in the fields of building services engineering and cleanroom technology, while also maintaining national and international contacts. I am a member of the Advisory Council for the VDI TGA/GBG and in the field of Life Science, Deputy Chairperson of VDI 2083 “Cleanroom Technology”, and Chairperson of the “Green Hospital” VDI 5800 specialist committee.
I give lectures on the field of cleanroom technology on a regular basis.
I completed my external doctorate from 2004 to 2007 in the field of applied chemistry at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. My topic was monitoring and controlling cleanroom technology systems, using the fields of pharmaceuticals and microelectronics as examples.
Since 2010 I have been a Professor for Project Management at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
I have my own avisory office "WHO Clean Technology Group" since 2015.
