Sabrina Maroc

Holding a fashion designer’s degree, Sabrina Maroc founded Open BioFabrics in 2015 in France, with the aim of reducing the impact of the textile industry on Nature. Guided by her passion for science and her background in craftsmanship, she experiments with biomanufacturing through the work of Suzanne Lee (BioCouture) and develops low-tech production systems for bacterial cellulose. Then, she will combine these new biotechnologies with ancestral know-how, with the same desire to share its knowledge. Rich in these experiences and noting the immense potential of microorganisms still used in a very restrictive way, it promotes biomanufacturing applied to fashion through monitoring, organization and dissemination of news from companies and biodesigners who cultivate the living.
