New type of double-walled fibre-reinforced plastic structures in integral design for panels and pipes

Lecture

Energy consumption and associated pollutant emissions must be decreased due to challenging climate protection targets in addition to rising energy and raw material prices. For this reason, research was carried out at ITM of TU Dresden on the integral and simulation-supported production of FRP lightweight panels as well as double-walled pipes and tanks based on spacer warp-knitting technology. As a result, curved components adapted to the end components with favourable performance properties can be realized with this technology.
