Environmental Containment Using Reinforced Composite Geomembranes: Qualitative and Quantitative Efficiencies in Installation and Performance
Mr. Durham is presenting Environmental Containment Using Reinforced Composite Geomembranes:Qualitative and Quantitative Efficiencies in Installation and Performance as part of the Urban Textiles section of the 2019 Techtextil Forum.
The presentation focuses on the qualitative and quantitative efficiencies in the installation and performance of a fabricated reinforced composite geomembrane as compared to a traditional high-density polyethylene geomembrane in an industrial contact water containment basin.
In addition to superior performance in tensile strength, tear resistance, and puncture resistance over traditional homogeneous high-density polyethylene film geomembranes, the fabricated reinforced composite geomembrane also demonstrates measurable reduction in the installation time and labor required for installation.
Findings from a comparative installation study are presented and discussed, with recommendations for geomembrane product selection in water retention and containment applications.
