Digital work – for people, not without

The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt actively supports highly specialized small and medium-sized companies with small batch sizes and constantly varying manufacturing characteristics in expanding their "digital fitness".
In addition to new technologies, the focus of the center of competence is on technical textiles and textile materials.
The Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt consists of four windows (Schaufenster) with different focus areas and a showroom in Berlin, which summarizes the four focus areas. Digital solutions for the further development of production and products can be experienced live in all contact points of the Mittelstand 4.0-Kompetenzzentrum Textil vernetzt.
Lectures will highlight new trends, lab tours will provide information on technical possibilities, and practical workshops will invite visitors to try out new solutions.

The window at the Institute of Institut für Texiltechnik (ITA) der RWTH Aachen University focuses on new social infrastructures for work, qualification and lifelong learning. The human being as an actor in a socially and technologically rapidly changing environment is the center of the Aachen window. Specific assistance systems and interactive virtual forms of representation will be used to illustrate how textile workflows and processes can be facilitated and optimized. The topics ergonomics of work and visualization of data play an important role as well.

Taking the four approaches of informing, demonstrating, qualifying and implementing into account, the Aachen window offers the opportunity to experience the networking of a fully integrated textile process chain. In addition, the employees of the shop window accompany small medium-sized textile companies in the introduction of innovative digital technologies and the development of new business models
