Prof. Dr. med. Ingo Fietze
In 1990 Prof. Dr. med. Ingo Fietze opened the first sleep lab at Charité-Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, where he founded the Interdisziplinäres Schlafmedizinisches Zentrum at the Klinik für Kardiologie und Angiologie in 2005. After completing his studies in biomedicine and biophysics in Moscow and in human medicine in Berlin, Prof. Dr. med. Fietze obtained qualifications in pathophysiology, internal medicine, pulmonology and sleep medicine and learned practical sleep medicine in Marburg, San Diego and Detroit. Prof. Dr. med. Fietze represents the entire bandwidth of sleep medicine and research. In his scientific work he focuses on the cardiovascular risks associated with sleep disorders, the impact of exogenous factors on regular and disrupted sleep, and new therapies. Prof. Dr. med. Fietze is a member of diverse national and international expert associations and trade associations. Also, he is the chair of Schlafmedizin Berlin Brandenburg and the CEO of Deutsche Stiftung Schlaf. As a book author and the co-founder of Schlafakademie Berlin, Prof. Dr. med. Fietze brings the topics of healthy sleep and disrupted sleep to a broad audience.
