Transport geographer by education, Timo Hoffmann has
worked as developer for geographic information systems, managed development
projects for the mobile phone industry, worked as geodata consultant and led
European research projects as work package leader. He gained experience as
product manager, business developer and solution director for international
software products focusing on transportation data analysis.
Currently he is responsible for the German National Body for traffic
data in the Connected Mobility section at the Federal Highway Research

With the increasing digitization of our society, boundaries former given by the availability of information will disappear. In future mobility services along a route or transport chain will be requested and the end-user of these services takes centre stage. Intelligent transport systems and services (ITS) facilitate and shape this change, which is right now accelerated by the politically correct framework conditions in our country and in Europe.
