Kimpeler studied media and communication sciences, sociology and economic
policy in Münster, received her doctorate in 1999 and has been working since
2000 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in
Karlsruhe. Since June 2013, she has been Head of the Competence Center
Foresight. Her work focuses on Foresight (Futures Research), in particular
scanning and scouting processes,
