Prof.Dr. Thomas Wimmer
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer was born in 1959
and grew up in Hamburg. After his Engineering Studies at the University Hanover
he received a PhD from Technical University Berlin in 1988. From 1984 to 1997
he gained experience in the field of supply chain management working at BMW in
Dingolfing, Sauer-Sundstrand in Neumuenster and Bremer Vulkan Werft. In 1997 he
became a partner at Proventus Consulting. Since 1999 Prof. Wimmer is working
for BVL International in Bremen, first as Member of the Executive Board and
since 2004 as Chairman of the Executive Board. Next to his occupational
activity he is lecturer at the University Bremen and at the Jacobs University
Bremen teaching procurement logistics, manufacturing logistics and contract
logistics. In 2009 he received a honorary professorship at the University
Bremen. Since May 2016 Wimmer is also a member of the BVL Board.
