Dr. Ulrich Franke
trained forwarding merchant Dr. Ulrich Franke completed his PhD in economics at
Cranfield University in the UK. He worked for many years in leading positions
with manufacturing and logistics companies in Germany and abroad. Furthermore
he was Professor for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University
for Logistics and Economics in Hamm (Germany). He led this specialized
university as CEO and academic rector for more than 3 years. In 2013 he founded
the Institute for Supply Chains Security in Germany. This institute is preliminary
focusing on risk and resilience management in pharma supply chains. With the
increasing digitization of logistics processes, the need to secure information
flows, e.g. through the new blockchain technology, has become an essential part
his deep supply chain expertise.
