Dr. Gelau studied psychology at the University of Münster and
subsequently completed his doctorate and habilitation at the TU Chemnitz. At
the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) he worked in the fields of driver
assistance systems and cooperative transport systems.
Since 2012, Mr. Gelau has been working in the field of Intelligent
Transport Systems and Automated Driving at the Federal Ministry of Transport
and Digital Infrastructure.

In future mobility services along a route or transport chain will be requested and the end-user of these services takes centre stage. Intelligent transport systems and services (ITS) facilitate and shape this change, which is right now accelerated by the politically correct framework conditions in our country and in Europe.
