ITS Congress: Mobility as a Service
With the increasing digitization of our society, boundaries former given by the availability of information will disappear. In future mobility services along a route or transport chain will be requested and the end-user of these services takes centre stage. Intelligent transport systems and services (ITS) facilitate and shape this change, which is right now accelerated by the politically correct framework conditions in our country and in Europe.
The increasing digitisation of our society affects the mobility sector to a large extent. Boundaries that used to exist due to the availability of information are disappearing. Mobility means using services and information along a route or transport chain and choosing the mobility solutions that meet individual needs. This focuses on the end user of these services and shifts the focus to sharing given by innovative new mobility services such as ridesharing, bikesharing, carpooling or carsharing. Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) are enabling and shaping this change and new actors in the mobility industry are accelerating it. It is the task of politics to set the right legal framework for this change. This is currently taking place successfully in Germany and the European Union.
The ITS Congress is intended to make this change tangible from a legal, organisational and technical point of view. In individual sessions, European and National flagship projects are presented as elements of a digitisation roadmap and the necessary cooperation of the actors and their role and responsibility in complex value chains will be discussed, without which a successful implementation of the roadmap is not possible.
