AV media technology: network technologies in AV technology

Professional audio and video products increasingly use network-supported transmission formats. Users have a range of suppliers from which to choose. Some manufacturers offer solutions with proprietary formats, while others follow a more open approach and strive for interoperability between standards. The aim of this lecture is to provide an overview of the current situation. An insight into the basic technologies can help to find the appropriate format for the different applications and productions. The lecture focuses on audio-over-IP standards (AVB, AES67, RAVENNA, Dante, etc.) with a short excursion into the world of video.
