The M-Cube is ideally suited for high-end 3D audio recording in the field of live events / ambient sound recording, as well as a recording solution for churches (e.g. St. Peter's Church Leipzig), theatres, large studios for orchestras, choirs, bands and concert halls (e.g. St. Peter's Church Leipzig).
This is evidenced, for example, by recordings of a concert in the Kulturpalast Dresden or performances in various churches or a concert with Prof. Ludwig Güttler, the world's leading solo trumpeter.
The M Cube is a 9-channel microphone system for time-delay based 3-dimensional recordings.
The 9 omnidirectional capacitor measurement microphones are arranged in the shape of a cube with a length of approximately 1 m each side.
The positions are adjustable – so the dimensions of the mic-arrangement can be adjusted to the dimensions of the room and the sound source. The M Cube is set up as a 5.0 array with another 4 microphones for height information. 5 x M 102 mics are used for the lower plane, 4 x M 221 mics for the upper plane.
The frequency response is independent from the distance to the sound source, there is no proximityeffect; sensitivity to wind noise is very low. The mounting barshave distance markings, so that any setting can be repeated.
